Sinusoidal Noise [ 1 x 1 Aluminium ]
.
A raw aluminium edition of the little Sinusoidal Noise module. This lamp fades with a purely analog electrical randomness. No digital pseudo random, just pure analog drift. There is a custom PCB inside which contains 9 analog oscillator circuits, each tuned to the same resonant frequency. They start all together in sync, but over time drift, due to small manufacturing discrepancies in each of the oscillator elements!

Sinusoidal Noise [ 1x1 ]

Sinusoidal Noise [ 1x1 ] comprises 9 analog light pixels, each fading on and off at a unique sine frequency. Over time, the slow, detuned oscillations of each pixel meet and join together to create a larger sense of motion. Light shifts between pixels, evolving like transient clouds, each moment capturing a unique snapshot of drifting sine waves. The work invites viewers to slow down, observe the gentle shifts, and adopt a more mindful and conscious approach to their surroundings. By emphasizing the beauty in natural variation, the work aimsto inspire a life more attuned to the rhythms of nature.

Spin Phase [ Planar ]

Some RAW footage of a test we did with no ribbons attached. If you listen closely at full speed the whistling of the balls cutting through the air is quite exciting! They must be travelling quite quickly at the fully extended radius.
.
Also at the end of the clip you can hear a popping sound, this is me blowing up the psu with too much regen braking current.
