We are deeply saddened by the passing of San Francisco Symphony Conductor Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas, a visionary artist whose impact on music and the Bay Area community is immeasurable.
During his 25-year tenure, he led nearly 1,800 concerts, becoming the longest-serving music director in the orchestra's history.
MTT's artistry, generosity, and enduring partnership with the @sfsymphony have inspired countless collaborations and touched audiences around the world.
We send our heartfelt condolences to our friends at the Symphony, the @sfsymphonymusicians, and to all who were moved by MTT's extraordinary life and work.
