🎨I’ve been discovering some incredible artists in Reading lately, from @silvanosart to one collective that really caught my eye @commandojugendstil Their murals are more than just street art-they tell stories about community, sustainability, local history, and hopeful futures.🌳
🌊From the Reading Hydro “Community Energym” mural to the colourful tunnels around Holy Brook and Katesgrove, their work transforms everyday spaces into something imaginative and alive. What makes it even more special is how local people help paint the murals, making the art feel truly part of Reading.
Rooted in “Solarpunk” - a creative movement imagining greener, people-focused futures where nature, art, and community come together. Bright colours, playful characters, climate themes, and storytelling all woven into the town’s landscape.
🖌️Reading has so much creativity hidden in it’s streets, and artists like Gugliemo (G) are helping bring that spirit to life. 🎨✨

❓️ One of the stories represented here:
Frederick Potts was a trooper in Gallipoli in 1915, during the first World War, when he was wounded to a leg. His friend Arthur Andrews got it even worse and found himself unable to walk.
Under enemy fire, Potts could have left Andrews to his luck, instead he decided to tie his friend to his shovel and dragged him until they reached safety 🪖
In the Time Travel Tunnel you are between Potts and the safety of a rough shelter 🏚
