Worn Between Blocks — An editorial series.
I texted Ming maybe two days before these images were made. Grabbed a few rolls of film, threw the camera in my backpack, and told him to meet me somewhere downtown. No real plan.
Earlier that day, I drove around with @joshaldecoa looking for corners that still felt untouched—away from populated parts of downtown. The kind of blocks that still feel lived in, where the locals live. I came across an out-of-service telephone booth on Clinton and Cherry st. Raw, overlooked, old New York.
A few minutes later Ming pulled up in baggy denim, boots, and a New Era fitted that was probably a little too big for him. I tossed him my yellow Gore-Tex, a chaps polo and we made some images.
At some point we made our way to Chinatown for a bite and ended up making a few more images there too.
