We are honoured to welcome the artist Chipo Mapondera[a] for residency challenge #7 Beyond Borders: AI, Climate, and Resource Justice in Africa.
Chipo is a Creative Technologist weaving African heritage and emerging technologies into immersive, ancestral experiences. Her project, Cry to the Water, is an AI-facilitated ritual installation that draws on Tunisian water rituals, oral histories and ancestral archives to confront water scarcity, climate crisis and resource justice, building a relational technology that resists extractive logics and opens space for healing and sustainable futures.

During the first week, @interference_light_art team joined the S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence Bootcamp where artists, curators, and technologists from across Africa and Europe came together to explore how art, science, and AI can shape more inclusive futures.

Four days of exchanges, workshops, and collective reflection at the @tshimologongprecinct in Johannesburg, South Africa, hosted by @fakugesi and @arselectronica , have opened new pathways for collaboration, learning, and imagination.

على فين راحتإنترفيرنس تونس في سينما راديو ضمن فعاليات دي-كاف، وعاشت تجربة ضوئية ساحرة بتحكي حكايات الطبيعة من خلال الماء، والأرض، والملح، في حوار بصري بين الضوء والظل، بين الفن المعاصر وقلب القاهرة القديمة.

AlaFein visited *Interference Tunis* at Cinema Radio during D-CAF — a mesmerizing light art experience that gave voice to the elements and created a stunning dialogue between nature, memory, and the historic soul of Downtown Cairo.
