We’re proud to be part of Backyard Biennial: East, a free, 8-week festival in collaboration with Whitechapel Gallery and 40+ local partners across East London
Date: 15 July - 6 September 2026
Join us for an exciting programme of exhibitions, performances, workshops and more, celebrating the histories, communities and creative practices that shape the East End.
Find us throughout the Biennial as we share videos of community gathering, solidarity and protest in collaboration with London Community Video Archive and Oitij-Jo Collective in the Zilkha Auditorium at Whitechapel Gallery.
Our three organisations will also come together for a special screening and discussion event on Wednesday 22nd July at the Zilkha Auditorium. Mark it in your calendars and watch this space for more information.

LOOP photography exhibition ended last week. The exhibition allows us to think and experiment with the exhibition process of photographic works. We have so much to reflect on and share our thoughts with you in the near future.
We are so honoured to work with these 24 talented artists. Creating this exhibition is such a meaningful experience for the little studio. We appreciate all the artists’ trust and patience, which gave us the freedom to work and experiment.
We hope the energy from LOOP still resonates with you and within you, motivating you to create!

This was the first image I made for this series. An idea that arrived before I could explain it, and in some ways that’s what the work has been about ever since.
On the last day of the exhibition I’ll be giving an artist talk at Four Corners Gallery, sharing how The Snail and the Mannequin came together, what drove it, and what I’m still figuring out. It’ll be informal, more of a conversation about what happens when the making and the thinking are the same process.
Free to attend. Come and look at the work, then stay and talk about it.

21st April 2026 — the premiere of the East London Palestine Solidarity Archive.
A living, breathing record of resistance, community, and truth — captured through the lens of James Whitaker.
Now open for a limited time at Four Corners 📍 121 Roman Rd, London E2 0QN
Rooted in solidarity with Palestine — unapologetically, unflinchingly — this archive centres those voices, those streets, those moments of collective resistance.
But look closer, and you’ll see how solidarity travels.
Echoes of Ukraine. Congo. Sudan.
Different struggles, shared humanity.
There are frames pulled straight from the waterways too — along canals and narrow boats, where community lives differently but stands just as strong.
Faces you might recognise. Places you already know.
Small acts. Big meaning.
From quiet gestures to bold defiance — this is what solidarity looks like when it’s lived, not just spoken.
Go down. Stand in it. Feel it.
Buy a print. Support the work. Show love.
All proceeds go to Medical Aid for Palestinians.
This isn’t just an exhibition.
It’s connection. It’s resistance. It’s a reminder — none of us are free until all of us are.

The launch of An East London Palestine Solidarity Archive — a space holding hundreds of moments, memories, and acts of resistance.
This is just one shot: Peckham Keffiyeh.
If you can’t say it, you should say it.
Every image tells a story of people standing up, speaking out, and refusing to look away. The artist — a boater — brings that same spirit from the waterways into this archive. Movement, community, and resistance flow together.
As a community of boaters, we stand clear:
No to genocide.
Free Palestine.
Intifada.
From the canals to the streets — solidarity lives here.

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
