PRIDE at the MSV is today from 10am-5pm.
This is an event that means the world to me and supporting a community I love so dearly. And I’ve cried so much this year for a community that still has to fight for its right to exist. To feel safe. To feel loved. To feel like they belong.
Community is all we truly have, and I’m reminding you to support your communities. You do not have to belong to the unhoused population to care about them. You do not have to belong to the immigrant community to care about them. You do not have to be queer to care about your queer community.
Because these communities are still a part of your community. A part of your cities. A part of the very fabric of what makes a place. They are your neighbors, your friends, your co-workers, and more than anything they are people. With hopes and dreams and fears and a need for a sense of place where they live.
I implore you to love thy neighbor, remember the golden rule, pay it forward, or consider whatever positive dogma you subscribe to. Because above all else, I need you to be a good person with love in your heart.
