circuit|breaker returns to our home base of Solace on April 17th for a full venue takeover, running 7pm–3am, and bringing together international pressure and local precision. We’ve got Keepsakes [NZ] playing two vinyl sets - one house downstairs and one techno upstairs, joined by CB regulars Hasvat Informant B2B Kait Xri, CBRK002 contributor Disgrays, and our very own circuit|breaker DJs, tracing the label’s sound from its roots through to what’s next.

Expect a focused dive into the circuit|breaker world — a meeting point of records, club energy and evolving sonic directions — carried by a lineup that reflects the label’s core and extended family.

Hotplate is back! Following a sensational launch party, we're pulling out all stops for another community event with music lovers in mind, with a very special vinyl set by @_reptant.

From 1pm on Saturday the 18th of October, the upstairs space of Solace will be transformed into a bustling vinyl and goods market. Wander through stalls of wax, merch, and other curious treasures, soundtracked by a rotation of selectors spinning records straight from their personal arsenals.

As the sun dips, the crates close and the night warms up. From 5PM ‘til late, Hotplate fires up into a full-tilt party showcasing some of the best local talent and their collections. Expect sets from label bosses, record store rats, collective runners, and touring artists, all hauling their hottest vinyl cuts for an all-night rinse on the Solace floor.

Welcoming DJ Glug for Sip ‘N Spin 016

The local underground scene is a complex being with many different organs keeping it alive, and at the heart of this being is the unsung hero, DJ Glug. Co-founder of @circuitbreaker_naarm , @solace.bar and most recently our newest pride and joy, the Hotplate party, Mr Glug is an active contributor to Naarm’s flourishing dance music scene. An avid vinyl head himself, DJ Glug has been at the forefront of Naarm’s bridge between local and international techno talent with his record label which is pressed locally and distributed internationally.

He shares with you today his drink of choice - a tall Sapporo beer. This seemingly innocuous beverage reveals a tradition in the formation and advent of DJ Glug.

His full set, along with visuals by @_desertmandan_ , will be out soon featuring hard-hitting and textured techno, with buzzing basslines and driving hats. His set list includes the latest unreleased tracks from his label’s upcoming release.

Introducing Hotplate: the love child of @solace.bar and @_pinsnneedles

This project is tailored to all wax and music lovers alike. Not just a party, Hotplate aims to create a community with quarterly gatherings involving a vinyl and goods market during the day soundtracked by both the best local and international selectors. In the evenings, crates will be stowed and needles shall be unsheathed for extended strictly vinyl parties in Solace’s club floor that means business.

The first iteration of Hotplate is the 28th of June. More info to come soon.

Bit late to the party, but CB3 is now out in the world! Our third VA, this little record pushes the label to its grittiest.

We'll be down at the one and only @solace.bar tonight flogging some copies, soundtracked by @simranasounds and @berga.op. See U there!

Two cute aspects of this release. I first came across @tamara_radosevic after playing on a Syd radio show several years ago, and have since sparked up a great interstate friendship playing for each other's parties.

Second - I first met @berga.op at one of our first EP launches last year, where he had a brief chat about a spanking Umek track I was playing. Seeing his artistry develop over the past year to the point we could imprint it on a record is a very proud label moment.

Bit late to the party, but CB3 is now out in the world! Our third VA, this little record pushes the label to its grittiest.
