Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is a subject that is everyone’s business.
It’s become almost normalised in our society and harmful and negative stereotypes need to be challenged.
Organisations across Hertfordshire have to come together and work collaboratively to prevent abuse, protect victims and survivors, hold perpetrators to account and drive long-term change.

Cllr Hillary Skoczylas, Executive Member for Children and Families, joined the Hertfordshire fostering recruitment team at Hoddesdon Market on Friday for the launch of our HELP campaign.
This week, we continue to celebrate Foster Care Fortnight, a national celebration of the incredible work foster carers do. This year’s theme is ‘This is fostering’, which gave Cllr Skoczylas the perfect opportunity to hear powerful stories directly from foster carers, their experiences and the support they receive from Hertfordshire County Council and each other. She said: “I just really want to take this chance to say a massive thank you to all our Hertfordshire foster carers.”
If you’re interested in learning how you could support a local child when they need it most, head over to our website to explore fostering.
🚲 A safer, more accessible crossing at Thomas Sawyer Way is here!
We were delighted to celebrate the completion of improvements in Watford alongside residents, partners and community groups 🎉
The new toucan crossing, wider shared paths and resurfaced road are already making it easier and safer for people walking, wheeling and cycling.
A great step forward for the Watford Green Loop and active travel across Hertfordshire 💚
A powerful new mural has been unveiled in Hatfield
💬 Created as a lasting legacy from the Knife Angel’s visit, the artwork shares an important message about knife crime and making positive choices. Designed with local young people and partners including @MurWalls and @hertspolice.
📍 Find it in the subway between Woods Avenue and the town centre.

Last Friday, we welcomed Cllr. Patsy Spears, Mayor of Broxbourne, to our East launch of the ‘HELP’ fostering recruitment campaign.
This campaign is focused on recruiting more foster carers in Hertfordshire, to meet an urgent need for more foster carers across the county, that's also being felt across the nation.
Cllr. Spears added her message to our growing community quilt, joining powerful contributions from children in foster care. She also committed to helping spread the word to reach more people who may consider a fulfilling foster caring role. Every conversation helps us reach someone who might be ready to make a difference.
You can help too, share our social media content across your networks, or download a poster or leaflets from our website and share them in your local community.

Do you have thoughts on our services or what we should prioritise in your local area? Let us know what matters to you most in our residents’ survey. We’ll use the information you give us to improve our services and deliver our priorities. Complete the survey via the link in our bio.

Hertfordshire’s first-ever Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) partnership strategy has just been launched.
Over 40 survivors of VAWG were consulted to help shape it and over 3,000 residents took part in our survey
The strategy has 4 priorities
·Act before harm occurs
·Identify and stop those causing harm
·Increase safety for victims and survivors
·Support after harm has occurred
If you or someone you know is affected by VAWG, support is available.

🚲 Hertfordshire County Council and Watford Borough Council have completed the first in a series of planned improvements to the Watford Green Loop - an important project forming part of wider plans to improve accessibility across the town.
🌳 The latest works on Thomas Sawyer Way significantly enhance access to the much‑loved Oxhey Park.
As part of ongoing improvements to this route, a new signalised crossing designed for people walking, wheeling, or cycling has now been installed on Thomas Sawyer Way.
The new crossing makes the junction with Dalton Way much safer and easier to navigate, allowing users to cross the road via new traffic signals. Previously, people had to wait on an island in the centre of a busy road.
In addition to the upgraded crossing, the project has delivered resurfacing of the road and widened shared‑use paths, improving comfort and accessibility for all users.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
