We live in the most distracted era ever, so literature as we know it must evolve to keep shaping the moral conscience of society. In a world where ethics and morality are traded for likes and shares, the thoughtful pens of writers must be inked again to deliver stories in doses the world can easily absorb.
That’s why I started The Burnt Stories Project to tell stories that provoke thought as quickly as possible. And now, with The Dele-Balogun Prize for Flash Fiction, I want to encourage even more people to tell powerful stories using the fewest words possible.

A month ago, we did the unprecedented. Launched a multi-modal storytelling project, “Don’t tell these stories”. It was simultaneously literature, visual art, illustration, installation and performance.
The best part was the people that showed up. They made it an evening of love and conversation.

Though the stories are short, it took me a long time to finish this compilation. 8 years. It started as Tintily way back when I was a copywriter. I was just playing with words but it has evolved overtime to what it is today, a work of art.
#DontTellTheseStories is no longer just a book you read. It has become an unforgettable experience. The storytelling starts before you even open the book. From the exhibition, the cover page, the impactful visuals and the structure of the stories inside…this whole project is one I’m immensely proud of. I went all in on this one.
