This week, catch a live set from Lamira (@itslamira) as she brings her band to the Art Gallery 💥

Blending reggaeton with contemporary urban sounds, the Venezuelan-born, Sydney-based artist is part of a new wave of rising Latin voices in Australia’s music scene, celebrating rhythm, community and the vibrant cultures of local Latinx and queer communities.

Presented in connection with Nadia Hernández’s exhibition ‘Para verte mejor, en todo tiempo (To see you better, at all times)’, the performance echoes the exhibition’s exploration of Venezuelan protest songs as expressions of cultural memory, resilience and hope.

Plus, join the drop-in workshop ‘Collective Song Banners’ by Nadia Hernández (@nando_nandez) where you can contribute to a growing installation by transcribing words, lyrics or poems that move you onto vibrant fabric ribbons.
