Hi, I’m Johanna ☀️

It’s about time I reintroduce myself to you guys. ☺️
I’m a shuffler, teacher, studio owner living in Tallinn, Estonia. A couple years ago I used to live in Amsterdam where I completed my studies and where I also started with this beautiful journey of shuffling. Now I’m back in my home country and I’m on a mission to share my passion with the people here. ☺️

I’ve always had so many sides to my personality and insterests that sometimes people are confused. 😆 I can be a techno girl and a tree hugging witch at the same time, a business woman with a strict plan as well as an adventurous and playful girl. And I love that I can choose every day/hour/minute what’s it going to be next. Helps me to thrive in every environment. 😌

This year’s TSL was such a turning point for me. You probably don’t believe me but until last week I was terrified of going into cyphers. At every single meetup my self-doubt kicked in and I was completely overthinking everything. Yes, I did go in but I was always scared to share and open myself up fully in the circle. The same thing happened on the pre-TSL meetup on Thursday and I was so disappointed in myself. And I made myself a promise I’m going to change that, I’m going to change how I talk to myself and how I think of these situations. I decided I won’t be scared to share my energy with others. Because at the end it’s mostly not about the craziest tricks you can do or the cleanest technique you can pull off but it’s about the energy you share with others. And I KNOW people love my dancing because of the energy in it.

And then came the meetup on Friday and I was a changed woman. I was the person who formed cyphers, who hopped in all the time and I WASN’T SCARED AT ALL. I was just having so much fun. I think the fricking amazing music that was played helped a lot as well, so thank you a lot @willynova.aif @marbiik and @oniriccat 🫶

I put my whole heart and soul in this round and watching it makes me so happy. It’s me there, fully present and immersed in the music. 🥹

Another spicy choreo in the books 🌶️

This was the THIRD spicy shuffle & shapes class I’ve taught and damnnnn they are becoming my favourite classes to teach.

When creating the choreos, I have so much fun, trying to come up with moves that make me feel empowered, sexy and confident. I loooove shuffling but sometimes I just want to add my own little spice to it. I have not properly trained in other dance styles but every now and then I pop into some classes to broaden the way I see dance and move myself. Will definitely keep this curiosity up in the future as well. 💃

I usually create these choreos in my living room wearing pyjamas or sweats, so seeing my ladies fully embody these routines at the end of the class, wearing their best outfits and putting their own flare to it, makes me sooooo happy. Truly a miracle to see my ideas come to life like this. The energy we create in the spicy classes is just on completely another level. ❤️‍🔥😤

Hi friends, I think over the past few years we have forgotten that social media was initially meant for socializing and not just consuming and trying to catch attention.

Do you all remember when you could actually keep up with your friends on Instagram and connect with people all over the world? That was honestly so beautiful and it’s sad to see that nowadays social media is seen as just another marketing platform.

But I think it can be what we want it to be.
✔️ You can unfollow accounts that don’t inspire you or people you don’t actually know.
✔️ You can only engage with content that you actually love.
✔️ You can tap “not interested” for content you don’t want to see.
✔️ But most of all you can CREATE AND ENGAGE!! Stop feeding your brain with overwhelming amount of information and just give something back in return. We can use this app mindfully. ❤️

And also can we pls stop generating our captions (and content in general) with AI, nobody wants to see that 💩 Time to bring back real life and real people.

Johanna, also known as JKarjus, is a shuffle & cutting shapes dancer, teacher, and founder of Spirit Studio in Tallinn, Estonia — one of the country’s fastest-growing dance communities.

She began her dance journey in Amsterdam in 2019 after discovering shuffling through a friend, and only a year later started teaching and sharing her passion with others. By 2021, she was already teaching weekly classes in Amsterdam before returning to Estonia to help grow the local scene.

Since founding Spirit Studio in 2023, Johanna has taught hundreds of students and become an active figure in the European shuffle community as a teacher, competitor, organizer, and judge at events across Europe.

Known for blending shuffle, cutting shapes, and other dance influences into her own creative flow, Johanna brings musicality, expression, and authenticity into every class. For her, shuffling is more than dance — it’s a way to connect, express, and feel free.

We’re excited to welcome Johanna to Shuffle Summer Camp 2026 — get ready for beautiful energy, creativity, and inspiration on the dancefloor. ✨
