BREAKING NEWS: Asia’s 50 Best Bars, sponsored by Perrier, returns to Macau for its 2026 live awards ceremony in collaboration with host destination partners Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace.

This year’s event programme fosters an exchange of ideas and innovation with a series of curated activities designed for the drinks community, including the Bartenders’ Feast, showcasing Macau’s diverse culinary and beverage offerings.

The celebrations will culminate in the live awards ceremony at Wynn Palace on 28 July, beginning with a glittering red-carpet reception followed by the official countdown revealing The Best Bar in Asia 2026, sponsored by Perrier.

“I’m still enjoying it,” John Ng says about jetting around the region to explore its cocktail bars for the epicurean-oriented Tasting Kitchen in his role as Wine and Spirts Director — he’s also Academy Chair for Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau for @50bestbars. “But it’s not the most healthy lifestyle,” he admits.

Right now, we’re in Manila for @thecocktailfiesta, in a cosy corner of @solaireresort’s @solaire_brb. And we’re considering the merits of picture menus, MSG, and cup noodles.

“Cup noodles are good,” John decides in an instant. “It’s saved my life a lot. One of my favorite things to do when I’m drunk is to go to @7elevenhk, everywhere, and I just grab stuff. I probably have two bites before I fall asleep,” he admits. Not the most healthy lifestyle, but he’s still enjoying it.

They obsess over the micro-details, exotic ingredients, unnecessarily complex recipes, and flashy presentations, and completely lose sight of the end consumer. If you are building an F&B business meant to scale over the next decade, your innovation must be anchored in a solid foundation.
