Had to run some errands all across Los Angeles yesterday, so I decided to pay my respects to some independent bike shops along the way. Sadly Mike’s Bikes is no longer in business, but I still had to go say goodbye before someone painted over that iconic Pico storefront. If you never got to visit Mike’s Bikes, you truly missed a Los Angeles gem. There was so much cool stuff packed into to that small space. Then on my way home from DTLA, I stopped in to see Poncho @luxbicycleshop !!! He had a wild coiled up foo sus in the stand, owned by a @teamtoromtb rider. We chatted Track Bikes for a bit, I’m so very happy he’s getting onboard before Track Bike summer. Stocking things like @mackcycling hubz, @halcyondaysrt EAI Cogs, and @godandfamous everything!!! But what really caught my eye was this metal @dodgers sign hanging from the @parktoolblue service sign. Pancho told me a friend of his made it while they were in the penitentiary, for something like 75 cents and hour. Don’t quote me or Pancho on that one, but if you didn’t think slavery was still a thing in the US, this is physical proof.

Now back to the independent bike shops. ⚠️ RIDE TOMORROW⚠️ Here’s to another #wednesdaywarriorscomeoutandplay #chunkadelics MTB Ride!!! And it’s going to be a spicy 1️⃣ !!! 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️ I’m hitting Valhalla, the legendary ridge line, full of all the exposure your little heart could desire from the folks @mtb_alliance_ . It’s a short but steep pedal up from the La Tuna Parking Lot, the entire ride is less than 10 miles, for anyone going to work after. Meeting at 7:30AM at the La Tuna 🅿️ Lot and rolling at 8AM.

I’d say you best bring a long travel hardtail or foo sus on this one. Can be done on a rigid, but you will hate me!!!

Just about 2500 feet gain in n 15 miles. @bikeaboutit decided to do it all on Track Bike just to show us how got damn strong he is!!! 💪 Hope y’all aren’t too tired for @moonbeam_sega_genesis Art Show at @spokebicyclecafe tonight, just had to post this reminder. @arrenroberson showing some photos there!!! @shawn182 definitely has the coolest @ridecannondale ever made. We had a little side quest to ride Elephant Hill’s new nature trail, the switch backs were chill, but that last push to the top was carnage. More than half of us fell off our bikes going up hill, @roymeetsvvorld was like I’m walking. 😂 It was Teddy’s idea to do the side quest, and he even got blood work done across the street from @collagecoffee before the ride. 🤯 Then we took @squidcirclepit to @lileastcoffee, because we thought it’d be cute, and it was hella cute!!! Thank y’all @lileastcoffee, y’all are always the sweetest with that cereal 🥣 milk!!! 🙏

We had a little side quest to ride Elephant Hill’s new nature trail, the switch backs were chill, but that last push to the top was carnage. More than half of us fell off our bikes going up hill, @roymeetsvvorld was like I’m walking. 😂 It was Teddy’s idea to do the side quest, and he even got blood work done across the street from @collagecoffee before the ride. 🤯 Then we took @squidcirclepit to @lileastcoffee, because we thought it’d be cute, and it was hella cute!!!
