Cette recherche, développée durant la résidence à 3353 est pensée en deux temps : une première série de projections de films d’artiste puis une exposition à venir.
À travers une sélection d’œuvres vidéo du @fmac.geneve (Fond Municipal d’Art Contemporain de la ville de Genève), cette séance explore les subjectivités contemporaines, les tensions du genre et les formes de résistance par l’excès.
Pensée comme un moment convivial et participatif, la soirée se prolongera avec discussions, échanges et jeux pour s’approprier ensemble ces enjeux.

I had the pleasure to write a text to accompany this brilliant exhibition at @tunneltunnel that gathers around a simple yet unstable act: looking, staying, remaining long enough for an image to shift. At its core is « The Origin of the World », a short film by Argentine filmmaker Jazmín López (@pepapigokok).
Inspired by Gustave Courbet’s iconic painting, López stages a tableau vivant in a single, continuous take, holding the frame until stillness begins to thicken. As the model sustains the pose, the image gradually accumulates what surrounds it: the quiet labor of the set, the off-screen voices of the director and crew speaking of censorship, framing, and the uneasy histories of the gaze. Nothing changes, and yet attention becomes dense, porous, saturated with theory, desire, and duration, until the body resists becoming simply subject or object and the frame begins to feel like a charged situation rather than a neutral view. What emerges is not a reproduction but an exposure of the conditions of visibility themselves. As cinema and painting press against one another, looking becomes heavier, departure feels abrupt, and the image slowly ceases to be silent, waiting long enough to return the gaze.
