Diving into the New Year with Jackknife! ✨
The jackknife is a super advanced pilates movement. Jospeh Pilates was an accomplished diver and the pilates move is named after the jackknife dive. This move requires thoracic and lumbar mobility to allow for proper spinal articulation, scapular stability, core engagement and hip stabilization to provide lumbopelvic stability, and create balance. This is a fun exercise to observe and set as a goal to progress your pilates practice. We will be definitely adding this to our practice 😅
