Gamma Sector is disbanding.

This is not a decision we make lightly, or on a whim. We started this whole thing on a whim in 2016, and for the better part of a decade, this band has been a massive part of our lives. But after a lot of difficult conversations, we've accepted that this chapter is over.

There are a lot of reasons, and they've been building for years. We've struggled to find a consistent lineup since 2020. We've shifted creatively as a group and struggled with identity as a project. We've been trying to make something work that stopped being what we signed up for.

We are a band that was founded by two kids who have spent years growing together, and as a band have always held strong social and political convictions, and have repeatedly made statements and contributions towards movements aimed at achieving those ends. We cannot continue to exist as a unit when any of our members are, in any way, publicly being accused of, and defending, behavior that we, as individuals, find indefensible. 

A band with a mission requires alignment, something we do not have. 

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. We couldn't be who and where we are as individuals without you. We're proud of what we've been able to do with this community. We put everything we had into Deteriorate. We're sorry for how this ends.
