For the last day of 2025, we are once again showcasing a special bottle, namely the Tepe by Clemencia Mendoza. Not only because it has one of the most expansive flavour profiles of all the distillates we offer. With aromas of berries and straw, yoghurt and earth, creamy and coating. A rollercoaster in the mouth.
But also because it is the product of a new generation of young Maestras Viñateras. Clemencia is the daughter of Aciano and Petronila, both of whom are represented in our shop with their own Tepes. And while Aciano learned how to make Tepe from his father-in-law, who also gave his daughter the distillery as part of her dowry, Petronila and her daughter naturally distil themselves. It's always a collaborative effort, but in the end, the person who put the most work into each batch appears as the author on the label.
We've included two more pictures of the distillery, as it looks more like a magical place than a workplace. But that's exactly what Tepe is all about!

Today, we're back with another one of our tasting boxes, this time from Mezonte – Destilados Mexicanos de Agave. Formally, Mezonte is a non-profit NGO dedicated to preserving indigenous agave distillates. That's why the pricing is different and these bottles aren't cheap. So we thought it would be a good move to try all the labels first before investing in your favourite bottle.
