Atlanta — over the last seven months, it’s been plenty of ups and downs, but ultimately, we did not get the result we wanted nor enough votes to win this race.

I am humbled to learn almost 3,500 of you voted for me in support of this seat, and that is something that I am eternally grateful for.

THANK YOU to everyone that shared, volunteered, supported, donated. We had the largest impact on this race —bringing the largest voter turnout in history for City Council in District 9, and that is something to look forward to in the future.

Congratulations my opponent, Dustin Hillis on a hard-fought race. I hope that he serves the entire district well on behalf of us both.

However, I’m still here in District 9 —right off of Perry Boulevard and excited to do the work for everyday people to make sure your voice is heard...

My opponent threatened to expose an old college arrest — a dropped misdemeanor for small marijuana possession — to pressure me out of this race.

This is the kind of politics Atlantans are tired of. We don’t need mud-slinging. We need real leadership focused on reducing violent crime, filing potholes, and showing up for our neighborhoods; not digging through someone’s past to score cheap political points.

I’m running for City Council to deliver results, not play games. I’m running for fairness and justice in our systems. I’ll stand up to political bullies and always fight for you.
