What happens when an actor doesn’t just play characters… but studies humanity like an archivist? 🎭
For our latest Collider Profile, Colman Domingo opens up about his approach to acting, describing himself as an “archivist” of human experience, someone driven by curiosity, connection, and a desire to understand people beyond surface-level labels.
That mindset shaped his performance as Joe Jackson in Michael, where he leaned into the character’s complexity rather than portraying him as a straightforward villain. It’s part of a larger philosophy: every project requires a different version of him, and a flexibility that keeps his work feeling fresh.

First reactions to The Mandalorian and Grogu are officially here, and they’re a bit all over the galaxy. ⭐
Some critics are calling the film “thrilling,” “adorable,” and exactly the kind of summer blockbuster Star Wars fans have been waiting for, with particular praise going toward the chemistry between Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and Grogu, along with Ludwig Göransson’s score.
Others, however, feel the jump from Disney+ to theaters doesn’t fully work, criticizing the film as uneven, overlong, and too much like an extended TV episode rather than a true big-screen event.
