it is surreal to write this but my closest and best friend Renan @renanjavier received a stage IV cancer diagnosis in January and has been battling hard since. cancer has spread and is aggressive. surgery is not an option so the goal is prolonging his life with a new chemo regimen to hopefully re-open doors to treatment options. they are also exploring out-of-province/country options to extend his life

any donation will go toward helping the family explore every option, and give Renan the most time and hope and opportunity. love this guy so much

sending all our love to @renanjavier @christinacabrera and Sol

haven't been taking photos much at all lately but did a little photo walk with @elrizzy @vanessadtam and @maiko_miyauchi this week and it was fun to bring the camera out again. if anyone wants to join can let you know about the next one.

Here's the second half of my chat with @muraihiro. We talked about a strange film we both love, the importance of process, and I shared my theory that there are 3 levels to everything in life.

The first time I interviewed Hiro was 10 years ago (hard to believe) β€” maybe we'll have to do another one 10 years from now.

I recently shared some images of a photo book I had the pleasure of working on for my talented friend @muraihiro. The book is filled with film photos he shot during production of the final two seasons of Atlanta. I thought it would be fun to share a little conversation I had with him over zoom.

Thank you to everyone who signed up for my experimental newsletter. I picked a winner at random from all those who signed up, and the winner is Ben Kirilo! Congrats Ben! I’ll connect with you to send you a copy of Hiro’s book.

One of the highlights for me this past year was this book right here.

Back in 2021 @muraihiro sent me a massive folder of film photos he shot during production of the 3rd and 4th seasons of Atlanta. While they were still shooting episodes, I had the honour of sifting through hundreds of Hiro’s images, making selections, and laying out a book.

I think there were only a few hundreds copies produced as gifts for the cast and crew, and I don’t believe they were ever publicly available, but I have an extra copy to give away. I am starting a personal newsletter (link in my bio). I'll randomly choose a winner from everyone who is subscribed to it when I send out my first email.

Atlanta truly is one of the greatest things ever to air on television, so this little project was a treat for me. If you’re a fan of the show, you may like to know that the other cover idea was an image of Judge Judy.

In the fall I recorded a little zoom chat with Hiro just for fun and we talked about the show and his interest in photography (and many other random things). That may be the first thing I share in the newsletter, stay tuned.

Instagram Stories geheim ansehen
