Sugar Press Art announces Ink & Earth, a milestone group exhibition
celebrating a decade of the studio’s commitment to art, sustainability, and cultural storytelling.
Presented in partnership with Mad Rabbit and hosted at Mad Rabbit Studio in the Downtown
Los Angeles Art District, the exhibition opens Friday, April 10, 2026, and runs through May 9,
2026.
Mad Rabbit Studio is more than a venue. It is the creative foundation for this exhibition: a
gallery-driven space where tattoo, fine art, and cultural narrative converge. Sugar Press Art and
Mad Rabbit share a common ethos: that what we create, on skin, on paper, and in culture,
carries meaning and responsibility.
Ink & Earth brings together compelling artists working across street art, fine art, and
contemporary culture. The exhibition reflects a collective belief that what we put into the world
matters, both artistically and environmentally. Sugar Press Art debuts new works including
hand-pulled silkscreens and woodblock prints, presented within the immersive, culture-first
environment of Mad Rabbit Studio.

Industrial grade Flowmaster Ink, industrial grade Marsh felt tip marker and vintage dead stock graphic arts grade layout paper.
As a member of the West Coast’s ‘Cool School,’ Ed Moses (April 9, 1926 – January 17, 2018) never limited himself to a signature technique or medium. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, he developed various modes of expression grounded in materiality of the surface and experimentation with application.Fascinated by the balance between order and volatility, the artist employed unpredictable materials that ultimately reduced his control over the final composition. Some of these experiments resulted in a series of grid paintings, sometimes referred to as ‘Actron series’, affirm the physicality of painting while evoking insubstantiality and flux.
This particular series provides me with multiple results. Putting dead stock inks, industrial markers and outdated graphic arts papers to use. I try to work on the series once a week, as this action also allows me to honor an artist whose work I greatly admire and to keep my actively playing, keeping the ink flowing.

RIP T.K. Carter (1956-2026)
Billy: Portrait of a Street Kid, sometimes titled Ghetto Child, was a TV Movie from 1977 staring a young LeVar Burton as well as the underrated T.K. Carter. Some Mini-roller block letters from @levar.burton character Billy Peoples as T.K. looks on in approval.
When I think of T.K. Carter, his rolls in Good Times, THE THING and Dr. Detroit come to mind.

SHOW LA (photo and book show) opens at 5:00 at The REEF (LA Mart) downtown LA. Also open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Featuring some great books plus announcing books for 2026-2027. @keepdrafting @eyeone_sh @mercedeshelnwein @chaz_bojorquez #artbooks #photography #urbanphotography

My last collage of 2025 will be for the T O N D O group show with @harmanprojects in New York City. On view from January 17 to February 7.I recently acquired a great deal of blueprint and drafting ephemera from a legacy architectural firm based in LA. Mashed this up with other invoice and bureaucratic paper I’ve recovered in the last quarter. Some ephemera can be notoriously non-archival, so I take certain steps to ensure longevity protections.

I wasn’t able to produce as much outdoor painting from December of last year to December of this year. Although it was one of the hardest years of my life, I am happy with what I was able to create and thankful for every opportunity and each window and outlet I was provided/offered.
I did however, get to knockout studio work and draw almost every day these last five months. I feel like I’m building up momentum to push on in 2026. 💪🏽
