I have so many highlights from my textile research over the years, and seeing this one up close has been a favourite of mine, a reminder of how these explorations continue to circle back into our upcoming collections

rangrez (dyers) take deep pride in their craft and coax colour from madder, tumeric, indigo and pomegranate, to name a few - these materials are more than a technique, they’re a living record of colour, care and skill passed down through generations

On Our Radar: Emerging Label Khade

Khade was founded in 2020 while designer, Namita Khade, was studying Fashion Knitwear at Central Saint Martins. Initially focusing on custom, handmade pieces, the label later shifted towards using locally soured materials, promoting sustainability.

Raised in North West England with roots in Maharashtra, India, Khade draws inspiration from her parents’ resilience. The brand’s ethos of “starting from scratch” is reflected in its creation of banana silk, hand-spun from waste in their parents’ home village, fostering both sustainability and employment opportunities in India.

Inspired by the likes of Martine Rose and Our Legacy, Khade values authenticity and community. Their designs blend Northern music culture, traditional Indian craftsmanship and everyday wardrobes, ensuring timeless wear and cultural authenticity.

We asked Khade what message they hope to deliver to their audience:

“Great, authentic design can come from anywhere. You don’t have to be based in a major fashion capital to create a fashion brand that resonates with the world.”

Instagram Stories geheim ansehen
