Thanks for asking me to sit with you on top of a picnic table and play your guitar.

Baby’s first loop!

I was 4 months pregnant the first time I sat down to watch Mexodus. Not only was I blown away by the story unfolding in front of me and the emotion, intelligence, humor, and musicianship of its incredible creators, the little creature I was carrying was instantly compelled to move to the music. And that’s the way it was every day after, through every rehearsal, every performance.

Last week, I got to bring that little creature to meet the people that make the music she’s been dancing to since before she was born. Maybe I’m projecting, but I swear she recognized those beautiful people and their songs.

Thank you to my Mexodus family for welcoming us back to visit. I love you all fiercely.
