About the artwork
The Same Moon functions as a meditation on universal connection, drawing
inspiration from the shared human experience of gazing up at the same night
sky. My practice aims to blend the technical precision of engineering -
manifested in the geodesic structure and LED lighting that simulates lunar
phases - with rich, cross-cultural mythology. The sculpture transcends a mere
physical object to become an illuminated beacon. It actively invites the audience
into a dialogue about shared heritage, from Diwali to the Lunar New Year,
symbolising the profound truth that “what unites us is far greater than what
divides us,” ultimately fostering joy, wonder and a collective sense of welcome
and homecoming

About the artist
Rich is a multi-skilled artist, designer, engineer and blacksmith who works on a
vast variety of projects, from public art commissions to repairing household
items. Lighting design is a new and exciting area he is exploring and enjoying!
