Roy Ayers Ubiquity’s album and song Everybody Loves the Sunshine turned 50 last week, and as the anniversary approached, I wanted to write about it, but I also wanted to take a step back from writing about my father as a person and just honor the music. I put a lot of energy into it, and I’m thrilled to have it out in the world.

This album just turned 50. It’s hard to take seriously now, but it’s also hard to forget how scary and powerful the cover art felt to me as a little kid. I wrote a Substack post about it. [link in bio]
