Motherhood changed the way I understand time, patience, and joy. My days run quick, moving between work, exhibitions, deadlines, openings, and the small, rituals of being with my son.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, caregivers, and people who make love feel steady, expansive, and everyday.

A very special opening night for Kim Gordon’s Count Your Chickens at Amant back in March. I’m pictured next to the infamous and beautiful Lizzi Bougatsos and the legend herself Kim Gordon.
It was moving to see Kim’s exhibition and Folded Group, a group show curated by Kim and Bill Nace of Body/Head and featuring two sculptures by Lizzi, come together in our galleries and to celebrate the many conversations around art and music that have shaped this project. Grateful for this moment, and for all the friends and family who made the night feel so alive.
A special thanks to @casparschwarzwald for bringing me into this curatorial collaboration.

Matsuda Yukio Kobayashi’s 1992 lookbook became an important reference in our conversations with @womens_history_museum while developing the publication that accompanied Grisette à l’enfer, their exhibition at @amant.arts.
Above are snapshots @arianakalliga and I took during a visit to FIT’s archive, where we spent time looking through historic lookbooks and thinking about fashion publishing as both document and object. We shared this and many other references with @chrischwu of the design studio Wkshps as we began shaping the publication’s visual language.

This week marks the closing of Grisette à l’enfer by Women’s History Museum at Amant. WHM’s collaborative ways of working draws people into their vision and builds a world that feels both current and expansive. I’m grateful to WHM, their team, and everyone at Amant who helped bring this exhibition to life--@arianakalliga and @casparschwarzwald!
The above images are by WHM and drawn from their upcoming lookbook designed by @chrischwu, published by @amant.arts, and launching tomorrow (2/13) with a performance by Lizzi Bougatsos @baby_seal777. In addition to WHM’s documentation, the book features a new series of photographs with Wera Nowak @weanowak and writing by Patricia Tilburg on the history of the Grisette, an interview with Fiona Alison Duncan @fifidunks and writing by Edna Adan.

Only two weeks left to see On Education at @amant.arts.
Co-organized by myself, Ian Wallace @ianewallace, and Tobi Maier @casparschwarzwald, this group exhibition brings together works by 35 international artists looking at how education is entangled with systems of surveillance, control, and social conditioning.
The show traces the emotional and structural impacts of being educated—how it shapes the body, the mind, and our sense of belonging—while also exploring how art can confront or subvert these forces.
Featuring work by Cristine Brache, Bruce High Quality Foundation University, Hanne Darboven, Michela Griffo, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Kasia Fudakowski, sgp, Laurie Sommons, Sable Elyse Smith, Philip Wiegard, among many others.
Come see it during the Bomb Small Press Flea on August 16!

We're excited to update Saturday's reading to include the fiction writer Daisuke Shen (@ginsengmasque) on top of an already stellar line up including poet Aristilde Kirby (@aristilding), and former A.I.R. Fellow and writer Funto Omojola (@funtofuntofunto)!
Reflecting on themes from the Biennial, the event explores the vulnerability of forming real-life intimacies amidst the tension between digital entanglements and analog experiences. With dreams serving as a metaphor for reconciling the real and imagined, the readings reflect on how language—written, spoken, or expressed through the body—navigates the delicate terrain of connection. It will begin at 4pm.
We hope to see you there!
