Contributed to a piece for @shukyumagazine Issue 12: “FUN” alongside interviews with Street FC founder @kylemartino and LA-based photographer @yearsofthetrees.

The conversations explored football culture, concrete, and the many different ways people connect with the game through communities like @streetfc as anticipation builds toward the World Cup in the US.

The feature is also supported by photos captured across the US by photographers associated with @streetfc , documenting the culture surrounding the game through their own local perspectives.

A.K.B, a french-american painter, born in New York and raised in Paris, offers a protest show. A passionate open letter to soccer through social and realist painting on The Beautiful Game.

From stadiums built with the bones of exploited workers to a sole player hugged by a hundred fans. From an encounter between one of the world’s greatest and one of the worst, to fans beaten by the police for their passion.
