I was so honored to carry the pictures and stories of 11 precious kids from Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo with me to the Children’s Emmys. Their powerful words were embroidered into my dress and I told everyone about them and how we need to help in every way possible. To the kids - we see you, we care about you, we love you, we stand with youPlease support @sudanese_american_physicians & @thefutureofcongo

I didn’t win the Emmys but that doesn’t matter at all. I’m happy for everyone and it was a hopeful, inspiring show with so many people who care about kids. @theemmys.tv

Im so grateful to @risakostis for finding the vintage used dress and so much more that I’m going to share in another post. I’m so grateful for the team that put so much love, care and kindness into this tonight

The suffering of millions is not a distant problem. It is a moral x-ray that reveals the fractures in global solidarity.

Join this noble cause by THE FUTURE OF CONGO as we rebuild the DRC, brick by brick.

World’s fair, which included a ‘human zoo’ displaying Black men, women, and children in their supposed ‘native conditions’ found in the Congo, then a Belgian colony.

The people used were abused and taunted by white spectators, who threw money and bananas over the bamboo fence to try to provoke a reaction.

One Belgian journalist reported on how, on one occasion, a white woman threw half a candy bar over the fence to a young Congolese boy, who promptly threw it back at her « without even looking up, with an air of noble contempt. »

The Congolese people in the exhibit, as well as Congolese workers in the fair, were housed in an isolated building, in cramped accommodation with restrictions on receiving visitors or being able to leave.

The exhibition was widely praised in Belgium at the time, with even socialist newspaper Le Peuple declaring that its "story... [was] in complete agreement with historical truth", and showed how Congolese people had been brought from "the night of prehistory to the light of civilisation".

Authorities intended for the exhibit to continue until October, however, they were forced to return the Congolese inhabitants home in July due to them resisting their inhumane treatment, and not tolerating it any further.

Racist human zoos took place in many countries, including the US, UK, Germany, and Norway, with the last one we are aware of being held in France in 1994.

The region of the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, where Ebola broke out, has made the virus difficult to contain. The number of suspected and confirmed deaths is already among the highest for any outbreak in Congo’s history, and officials expect the toll to rise.

Health officials believe the current epidemic began in Mongwalu in Ituri Province. Heavy population movement is common in the region because of violence and seasonal labor in the gold mines. Ituri Province borders South Sudan and Uganda, raising concerns about cross-border transmission.

A previous Ebola outbreak in the area became the second deadliest ever recorded. It took two years to contain, starting in 2018.

Children remain especially vulnerable as outbreaks disrupt essential services and increase protection risks.

Urgent humanitarian access and sustained support for frontline responders are crucial to save lives.

It’s the little actions, the small efforts, and the simple initiatives we take for our loved ones that truly matter. Love is shown through presence, care, and consistency. ❤️✊🏾🇨🇩 @lifeoftanyamarie

We are responsible for more than 270 children enrolled at just atour school TheFutureOfCongo Academy providing free education, care, hope, and a safe space for the next generation in eastern Congo.

Today, as another Ebola outbreak threatens communities in North Kivu and Ituri, we must continue raising awareness and protecting our people. Access to healthcare, prevention, and information can save lives.

Our children deserve to grow up safe, educated, and healthy. Congo cannot fight these crises aloneawareness, support, and action matter now more than ever. 🇨🇩🖤

Heartbreaking that Congo isn't being talked about 💔💔

I wish that people understood Congo is the ROOT, they need everything Congo has to sustain all the other atrocities.

Shame on the silence of the collective, shame on those enabling the possessed, shame on those devouring children after abusing them. In a world of free will we have people practicing evil, in a world of free will who are we?

May the people come to realization of who they are and evolve for the betterment of human kind. May a brother help a brother in need, may the people stop practicing evil wicked ways that only hurt them even more and bound them to demons.

We are the children of light and to evolve one must stop dwelling in darkness. Peace and protection always be with the innocent and the children of light.
Karma is hunting all.

Instagram Stories geheim ansehen
