The OG and the Baby G.

Gonna be splitting my time between @reyna.paris and @mischief.paris but if you've noticed I have not been in the Reyna kitchen for a minute, it's because I've passed the reins over to the new chef de cuisine @arnoldsaynesmendiola15 👨🏽‍🍳 Expect the same bold flavors as I am still going to be curating the menu and will also be asking him to collaborate with me on some dishes!

But now the focus is on getting the new place open. So I'll be pretty full-time at Mischief for the first few months until we get everything working properly before I start to shuffle back and forth.I am workingg on how to balance work and life and thriving in the inevitable chaos. All this and a few collabs and side projects.

Before I start saying I'm tired, I'm going to switch directions and just say- how lucky am I to be happily exhausted doing what I love to do? How lucky am I to have people who believe in my silly dreams? How privileged am I to be able to nourish people and show the world who I am through my food? I swear I must have done something amazing in my past life for my karma to be this good.

It's been a year, you don't even know. The good anthe bad forcing me to grow. Times Ididn't think I could go on. But I picked myself up and got shit done. Taught our whole lives to keep ourselves small. Not anymore, that's propaganda I ain't gonna fall for.The best is yet to come, I feel it in my core. Closed doors always open other windows to explore. It's not about "more", it's being intentional. I decided to fuck being conventional, I never was anyway. But now it's gloves off, I ain't here to play. 🌜🌗🌝🌓🌛

Seems like such a crazy age to be. Like how did the number get so high?
Why do I still feel like the silly, rébellious teen that i was?
We put so much importance on youth but you cant pay me anything to go back there. I feel like with every number added to my age, i know myself more, love myself more and can take care of that crazy teenager who's worst nightmare was being like everyone else, who got depressed when told what to do or what not to do, who questioned everything, who knew she was different but used to desperately try to fit in.

Big me looks at little me with pride. You made it this far kid, and it will only keep getting better 💞

Still kind of wild to think we opened in the middle of a pandemic — uncertain, a little chaotic, and running purely on instinct, adrenaline, and a lot of heart. What started as a leap of faith turned into something so much bigger than we ever imagined.
