Getting a piece of my novel published would feel good no matter what—but seeing it in The Common, a lit mag I’ve loved and respected for years, is a particular kind of trip. Feeling very grateful today!

It’s this little girl’s birthday today! 🎉🎂🎈💐
Yes, that is me 😊 And my birthday wish this year is simple: for my work to reach more of the people it’s meant for.
I’ve spent the past six years in Miami building a life around writing — founding Heart-Centered Writing, starting Miami Poetry Club, publishing books, writing a novel, getting my MFA, performing shows and readings, leading workshops, and creating spaces where people can return to their own voice.
If you’d like to give me a birthday gift today, here are some easy ways you can do it:
✨ Buy a ticket to an upcoming workshop (links in bio)
✨ Share my page with someone who wants to write
✨Like or share one of my posts so it reaches more people
✨ Sign up for my weekly newsletter (@ neysaking.com)
✨Read or share my published work (link in bio)
✨ Buy me a birthday coffee (you guessed it … link in bio)
Every ticket, share, sign-up, and caffeinated beverage helps me keep offering beautiful literature to Miami and beyond.
Thank you for being here. And thank you for helping my work grow. ✍️🌱

There is something magic that happens when a person gives me their name, three words, and a few minutes.
At events, I sit with my typewriter and write custom poems for guests on the spot — small keepsakes, made in real time, from whatever they bring me.
It’s one of my favorite forms of Heart-Centered Writing: intimate, immediate, a little mysterious.
Thank you to @brashleighphotography for capturing this so beautifully.
For private events, hotels, brand activations, and other cultural gatherings, you can inquire through the link in my bio.

Last night was the first Poetry & Pours at Pool House, Wynwood by @sohohouse
We read “Sleep” by Ellen Bryant Voigt, drank wine, talked craft, and wrote.
This monthly series is about approaching writing through the art of listening: engaging with exquisite pieces of writing, learning from the masters, and practicing on the page ourselves.
It’s a space to deepen your creativity in a dreamy, intimate environment.
Our next workshop is Wednesday, May 27.
If you’re a Soho House member, you can RSVP through the member app. If you’re not a member but would like to come, DM me — I have a few guest spots available.
More soon. ♥
I’ve never given a writing workshop, and ended up learning so much about myself. That’s what I get for picking “joy” as the topic: a concept seemingly simple, and yet, as we came to discuss tonight, inseparable from sorrow and grief.
I am so grateful for everyone who came out tonight, for showing up so thoughtfully.
These are the kinds of experiences I am building at Heart-Centered Writing: space to engage with beautiful words in beautiful settings. Thank you tonight to the @miamibeachedition for providing the beautiful setting, and to everyone who made it even more beautiful with your writing.
Follow along for future workshops.

National Poetry Month, but make it joyful ✨
April is almost here, and I’m so happy to be partnering with @miamibeachedition for Poetry for Joy on April 17, a special poetry workshop where we’ll read poems about joy, write our own, and enjoy bites from the Mizu menu.
Join us for an evening of poetry, community, and a little more joy.
Tickets are limited. Link in bio.
In honor of Women’s Month, meet Neysa King, the poet behind the quiet magic unfolding inside Little Torch.
Her monthly residency turns the room into something softer, slower, and a little spellbound. Offer her three words and watch as she weaves them into a touch poem, intimate and unexpected. A few syllables in your hand become something luminous on the page.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Heart-Centered Writing. 💌
Today I’ll be doing what I love most: writing, and sharing the writers I love.
For Self-Love Letters at @theshelborne, we spent the evening with Frank, Ocean, Roger, Elaine, and TQM. A beautiful gift — and I can’t wait for the next one.

And on Feb 11, I’m hosting a special Self-Love Letters writing salon as their Valentine’s activation. We’ll spend an evening in conversation with writers like Frank O’ Hara, Ocean Vuong, and others who have asked the question, “What would it take to love myself?”
