⚪️ With few photos from the award ceremony held last week, in Kino Kinoteka, where Croatian Film Critics Association gave away Oktavijan awards for the best films from 2024, we once more congratulate the Bonobostudio film winners: I Would Rather Be a Stone by the author Ana Hušman (produced by Pangolin), which won the Oktavijan for best experimental film, and Žarko, You Will Spoil the Child! by the authors Veljko and Milivoj Popović (produced by Prime Render Studios, Bagan Films, 3D2D Animatori), which won the Oktavijan for best animated film.

On behalf of the absent Ana Hušman, the Oktavijan Award for the best experimental film was accepted by film editor Iva Kraljević and director of photography Ivan Slipčević.

Both films were screened on the occasion.

The Croatian Society of Film Critics established the Oktavijan Award in 1992, and it was named after Oktavijan Miletić, the first Croatian filmmaker who systematically worked with film, and is therefore considered the founder of Croatian and Yugoslav cinematography.

⚪️ Žarko, You Will Spoil the Child! by Veljko and Milivoj Popović is Prime Render Studios, Bagan Films and 3D2D Animatori production, based on the book U malu je uša đava by Tisja Kljaković Braić.

It premiered at @animafestzg 2024 where it was awarded a Best Film in Croatian Competition and Audience Award. Film was a double winner of @festivalmediteranskogfilma with Audience and Best Mediterranean Short Film awards. Film is on a heavy festival rotation, stay with us for all the fresh news about it.

Film recounts the memories of a childhood in Split in the 1980s. These are stories retold after Sunday lunch when everyone is in a good mood, stories filled with emotions we can easily relate to. But above all, the film is a moving tribute to the love of a grandpa and grandma who did their best to keep their granddaughter smiling.

Next festival stops:

► Ottawa International Animation Festival (25/9-29/9/2024)
► KIKI International Film Festival for Kids (30/9-4/10/2024)
► Sedicicorto International Film Festival (4/10-13/10/2024)
► Big Cartoon Festival (25/10-5/11/2024)
► Animanima International Animation Festival (6/11-9/11/2024)
