Some bands chase volume. Others chase speed. 95MP take a different route entirely one built on atmosphere, patience and emotional space.
Their music moves through atmospheric instrumental territory, where texture and mood carry more weight than tempo. Rather than pushing for dramatic crescendos or obvious hooks, the group let their compositions unfold slowly, allowing small details to breathe. The result is music that feels reflective and immersive, closer to a drifting landscape than a conventional band performance.
Their recent release Epiphany captures that approach perfectly. Across eight concise tracks, the band build worlds out of tone and restraint. Melodies appear almost cautiously, gliding through soft arrangements before dissolving again into the wider soundscape. Nothing feels rushed; every element is placed with intention.
There’s a subtle cinematic quality to what 95MP create. Pieces seem to move like weather systems gentle swells, gradual shifts in light and shadow, moments where a single phrase carries the emotional weight of the entire track. It’s the kind of music that rewards close listening but also works as an environment, something that surrounds the listener rather than demanding attention.
What stands out most is the band’s discipline. In an era where many instrumental projects chase grandeur, 95MP understand the power of restraint. Silence and space become instruments in their own right, allowing the music to feel both intimate and expansive at the same time.
For listeners drawn to instrumental music that prioritises atmosphere over spectacle, 95MP are carving out a distinctive corner of their own calm, contemplative and rich with feeling.
