Photos from the #palisadesfire last night. Surreal and powerful to walk through. Having met dozens of people who lost their homes in 2018 in #Woolsey, and knowing the kinds of struggles that people go through after something like this…and now seeing this in my own neighborhood… Well, any amount of cognitive dissonance related to disaster washes away when you see the scope of it face-to-face. But then moments later I numb out because it’s moved so fast and doesn’t feel real, especially in this state of delirium after a night of no sleep. Thankfully we are totally safe, and so far our building is outside the mandatory evac zone. Regardless, we’re evacuating to get away from the smoke.

Anyway, the encouraging takeaway I get from these kinds of things is that it’s nice seeing how many people go to bat for each other when facing crisis. It’s easy to get lost in the cynicism of the world until you get a reminder like this. My heart goes out to all my friends and neighbors who are in the perimeter, and hope you are all safe and well. Please reach out if you need anything at all. I worked for a fire recovery NGO for a few years, so might be able to make recommendations or connect you to good resources.

AI is not going away. We’ve been criticized by some screenwriters and filmmakers for even talking about it. We understand the fear… but we really don’t understand the commitment to ignorance as a response to that fear. #chatgpt #chatgpt4 #screenwriter #filmmaking

Chat GPT supports diversity and marginalized groups. If Hollywood is all about progressive, forward-thinking morals… why can’t executives make fair deals for the creatives who are the reason for their very existence? #chatgpt #chatgpt4 #barbie #barbiemovie #sagaftrastrong #sagaftrastrike #sagaftramember
