Limited edition of 100
The third issue documents a workshop I led with Anne Murayama during Tokyo Art Book Fair 2025 @tokyoartbookfair last December at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
Participants worked with a selection of materials gathered in Tokyo in the days leading up to the fair, including photographs we took around the city, alongside typographic and graphic fragments.
This issue brings together the artworks created during the workshop, photographs taken by Anne and myself throughout Tokyo, and a series of personal collages made afterwards.

HOT NEWS! 🔥🇯🇵🔥 I’ve been selected to run an event in Tokyo in collaboration with Anne Murayama @anne.murayama independent curator and publisher at Ephemere Gallery in Tokyo @ephemere.tokyo during the @tokyoartbookfair in December!
TOKYOKUMU WORKSHOP — WEAVING THE CITY
You’ll find a collection of graphic shapes, textures, grids, maps, typographic pieces and photographs of Tokyo laid out on a table. Using the pieces you like best, you’ll create your own photo/graphic artwork on a simple A4 sheet. You can cut, glue, overlap, divide, and combine the pieces as much as you like, or use them just as they are.
📸 Anne and I will collect all the photographic material by taking pictures around Tokyo over two days, before the Tokyo Art Book Fair.
📖 Final publication: all material from the workshop will be collected and published in the “black skew” journal series in 2026, featuring the Tokyokumu Workshop and the TABF.
For the complete project please check www.blackskew.com.
