Ground Control is supporting MSC Cruises in a major and complex communication initiative in the United States aimed at boosting brand awareness. The campaign began with a commercial aired during the Super Bowl halftime show and culminated in four major events over the course of a week.
On April 6, the ribbon was cut for the highly anticipated MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, the largest and most technologically advanced facility of its kind in the world. The event was preceded by a laser show and captivating projections, leading up to the official opening of this symbol of “Made in Italy,” which was also acknowledged by Prime Minister Meloni during the inauguration ceremony.
Following that, on April 9, the christening of MSC World America took place after the ship arrived in Miami from Saint-Nazaire, with a naming ceremony prepared during the Atlantic crossing. This event was also preceded by AI-generated teasers and culminated in a show featuring Drew Barrymore as the godmother and a special appearance by Orlando Bloom.
The ceremony continued with a concert by Cuban-American star Gloria Estefan, a singer with more than 75 million records sold worldwide. The ship then sailed to the Bahamas for the inauguration of the Marine Conservation Center and a grand final beach party.
