New project! Suntime is a simple sun tracking app that helps you visualize how much sunlight is left in the day and plan ahead for sunrise/sunset times 🌄
Try it out at sun-time.co & let me know what you think!
The Idea:
The original spark for this originated during the winter + pandemic where the days seemed to just disappear. I wasn’t getting outside as much as I should have while WFH, and could have benefited from something to prompt getting outside during the day before it got dark.
Design Process:
Brainstorm/prototype thoughts:
1. How much longer will the sun be out for?
2. Can this introduce some “urgency” to spend some time in the sun?
3. What’s an interesting or simple way to visualize this?
After working through a few ideas (things got a little out of hand here lol, but some interesting viz ideas for the future maybe) - landed on a simpler option that hopefully gives that level of urgency
About the App:
It’s a website that functions like an app, so you can install it to your phone’s home-screen (instructions on the site) and it should work like any other app would (icon and full-screen experience included 📱). If not lmk - there’s probably a bug to fix 😅

Little bit late on posting this, but here’s some process pieces from the latest album art 🌀
Definitely more on the experiment side of things, but landed on something that tried to balance clean+chaotic after a few tries lol.
Overall pretty fun to throw together the other assets for stories/etc as well - definitely a few options to take from
Original source & processing - procreate on iPad
Motion - Matter & Disflow apps
