Images and spreads to visually illustrate the moving image: the place of sounds in cinema for @presentspacemag - words by Eve Rogers.
“Sound in cinema carries a distinct narrative charge, capable of expressing nuance, memory, and emotional
undercurrents that image and dialogue may only gesture toward. Composers and sound designers create an aural language that shapes experience from within the frame. In this liminal space between hearing and feeling, sound becomes narrative in its own right.”
Thank you @duque.j and @nimahabibzadeh

Bodie and Luke for @another_man Volume II, Issue IV.
I snapped my ankle in half when I jumped down some stairs on my bike and landed funny. A few days before prom I had surgery - they opened up my ankle and drilled in a few screws to keep everything in place. I had a big cast up to my knee, I was on crutches and had a bad haircut. I wore a suit - the pants grabbed my ass in a way that made me self conscious. I asked my friend Star to be my date. She had red hair and was taller than me - she was still getting used to having grown a couple feet the year before. Mac Dre was big then - he preached about the nation of Thizzlam and the like - the kids from Marin city wore XXL pro club tall tees and Girbuad jeans with the MF + G straps along the legs. Some of the white kids did the same. I had my moment. Everyone I knew took ecstasy - it was so big that Carlos the security guard checked everyone’s pupils before school dances. Our prom was on a boat that floated in the bay. On the way to the dock we all got on a party bus - I had taken a few extra percocet that I had been prescribed after the surgery. People were drinking Carlo Rossi wine straight from big glass jugs - we all thought it was cool because E-40 rapped about it. For a moment on the party bus I forgot about my ankle with the pins and the plates and the big scar - I forgot about the crutches and the cast. I had some orange mickey mouse pills stuffed down my cast. I got through security no problem and split the pills with my buddy Will. When they hit us we were sitting on the bow of the boat, under the bay bridge.
