We had the absolute pleasure of co-hosting a private Visible Mending Workshop with the incredible team at Le Labo. ✨
Our journey started at @fabscrap, diving into mountains of discarded textiles to rescue the perfect denim and fabric scraps. Back at the studio, we carefully curated the materials alongside vibrant threads, ready to welcome over 50 global educational team members.
The energy in the room was inspiring. Everyone learned the art of Japanese Boro-style stitching—layering patches, repairing holes, and transforming worn fabrics into durable art. Time completely flew by; the room was so captivated that many chose to keep stitching straight through their break! 🧵🪡
The results? Beautiful, sustainable textile art. Some plan to stitch them onto their favorite jackets or tote bags, while others will display them as unique wall hangings.

Paper yarn is a strong, lightweight, and eco-friendly yarn made by twisting thin strips of plant-based paper into thread. It feels similar to linen, with a crisp texture and breathable quality.
Great for summer.
100% paper pulp yarn
Colors are in navy, natural, light brown and white available at our UES location and our website.
There are only a few days left to experience the breathtaking textile art by Nikita Jain @dhari.studio
Each piece beautifully captures the depth and essence of botanical dyes, bringing a sense of calm and inspiration to our space.
The exhibition runs through May 31st. Catch this incredible display before it’s gone!

The Book of Many Journeys
Time to pull back the curtain a little. Sashiko came into my life at a very important moment several years ago. I was in the middle of a life realignment that was driven by a medical emergency.
Since then I have continued to grow as a bookbinder and as a stitcher.
@sashikostory was the first person who’ Sashiko work I studied. A few weeks ago I traveled to NYC to learn from him in person at the @loopoftheloom . It was worth every moment.
I am so lucky to have found multiple crafts that I love.
The recognition of that fact is why I continue to research and teach.
This book is a culmination of trades and histories. Every time I look at it I am reminded of how many lifetimes have been invested into each of these crafts.
The fabric is hand dyed indigo from Japan.
The threads are @olympusthread also an import.
The white fabric is antique feed sack cloth from the 1940s.
The paper is Italian.
Iso lucky to live in a time when I have the access to materials and knowledge. It is a wonderful thing.
If you want to learn sashiko, you should check out Sashiko the untold Story by @sashikostory
And! If you want to learn how to make your own books you need to check out the first book by @hollanders.book.and.paper.arts . I have started a re read it and honestly I love everything I’m it.
