Come on down to the space and see what we’re cooking up, and dont miss our May send off with our Boiler Event at the end of the month!

what does a thriving music industry look like without harmful tech companies like spotify?
i’ve been gnawing on this question for years, but in mid 2025 i finally had the courage to remove my music from streaming platforms and find out what my artist practice looked like without the music tech giants
i gave a talk on my findings called “SPOTIFY DROPOUOT”
people loved what i had to say
so we decided to run it back at @make.shiftartspace in Bellingham, WA
i’m proud of what i’ve accomplished so far, but i’m not gonna stop until we change the world.
u wanna help me?

Friday May 29th at Make.Shift
Sceneric
Sprig (Seattle)
No-Fi Soul Rebellion
Cat Positive
All ages
Doors 8pm
$11 advance / $15 day of show
Cat Positive opens the night and we are really excited to play with Sprig again. The last time we shared a bill was at Central Saloon in 2021. The room was packed with goths, queers and baseball bros peacefully coexisting together. One of my favorite shows ever. Sprig absolutely killed it and we’ve wanted to do it again ever since.
At the request of the performers, we ask that attendees please wear a mask at this event. If you’ve been wanting to participate in a masked-up show, this is a great opportunity. Thanks for helping make live music more accessible and for supporting our immunocompromised community ❤️

Welcome to Jack’s House was a one-night interactive art installation and photo station that we built in a day in the basement of Make.Shift and took down in an hour. This month, Make.Shift partnered with a local school to pair a student artist with a community artist for the annual Kid’s Art Walk. The student created art (theme butterfly effect) and then the community artist created a response piece. For us, this work reached across counties, created relationships, and rippled into laughter over an interactive lighted tentacle.
Our set, plus my emulsion piece in the main floor gallery, was in response to a student’s (Marco) art submission to Make.Shift Art Space titled The Hurricane.
The Hurricane
“Once upon a time there was a boy named Mike. Mike was walking to school when a bird flew over his head. One of its feathers landed on his nose and he sneezed. The air made hurricane Katrina. The bird flew away.
Mike’s house flew away so he had no food and tomorrow he would not have a lunch. A kid named Jack saw he had no lunch and came and sat with Mike. He told Mike that he packed an extra snack and gave Mike granola bar. They started talking about nonsense like video games. Soon they became friends. Mike told Jack his house blew away, so Jack invited him to stay at his house. They played video games together at Jack’s house. They had macaroni and cheese for dinner.
in the middle of the night, Mike woke up because he was hearing weird noises. He looked around and Jack looked weird. Jack is an alien.
The End.” - Marco (Samish Woods Montessori School)
Let’s build it. Let’s be weird. So… Welcome to Jack’s House.
A special thank you to Marco, who we didn’t get to meet, but we hope these photos bring a lot of joy. An extra special thank you to @make.shiftartspace, where our studio is located; @barrettlizza for being kind enough to let me take photos of old TVs in his shop (& for selling me this cool TV); the man from Skagit who gifted us his family couch that we the strapped to the roof of our car; & finally my lifelong friend @gracieface85, who still takes me to her family home even after I say the ominous…Hey, I have this idea.
Thanks for playing, Bellingham.
