Evan P. Schneider is the author of the novel A Simple Machine, Like the Lever, which has been adapted for film by Mark Hoffman. Founding editor of Boneshaker: A Bicycling Almanac, which Esquire called “a philosophical love letter to life in the saddle,” Evan has received fellowships for his work from the Oregon Arts Commission and Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts.
Mark Hoffman is an award-winning filmmaker working across commercial directing, viral campaigns, and narrative cinema. Known for his visual precision and controlled intensity, Hoffman directs with a strong design sensibility, deep editorial background, and a naturalist’s eye. His direction of Nike’s Joga Bonito campaign earned a Cannes Golden Lion and helped shape early digital brand storytelling. He is a co-founder of HB Studios and director of the feature film A Simple Machine.
