Bboy Ookie has been breaking since 1999 and represents Dirty Dozen Crew. Known for his technical approach, strong foundation, and musicality, he has spent decades in the scene and continues to support the culture through battling and judging.

For the 2nd judge in the panel, hailing from NYC, we’ve got PREVAIL 🗽

Luis “Prevail” Toledo is a New York City–born breaker, community leader, and lifelong student of hip hop culture. With over 20 years dedicated to breaking and practicing the elements of hip hop, he continues to push the culture forward both on and off the floor.
Representing The Mighty Zulu Kingz and Kweenz and One Society Crew, Prevail is an active competitor and a passionate organizer committed to creating meaningful events and opportunities throughout New York City and the tri-state area. At his core, he moves with genuine love for the community and a mission to help the next generation succeed.

INTRODUCING THE JUDGES

For the 1st judge in the panel, one of Philly’s favourite…we’ve got METAL 🤘

Metal was born in Bermuda and came to the Philly area for college in 2000. He fell in love with Breaking and hung out at the edge of The Gathering for a couple years until he was brave enough to jump in the cipher and be wack. He continued to be wack for another few years until he co-founded Repstyles Crew in 2004, who helped him be a bit less wack. Since then, he’s constantly been chasing the spirit of fun and freedom that only Breaking and Hip Hop can give. He performed as an ensemble member with companies like olive Dance Theater and Almanac Dance Circus Theater, co-founded arts education company Hip Hop Fundamentals with Steve Believe, and created several evening length stage performances with BurgioWong Performance. He continues to represent Repstyles Crew / Section31 / Story Mode. He works full-time in arts education and will always love Breaking.

INTRODUCING THE EMCEE 🎤

On the mic we’ve got one of the most recognisable voices in Philly STEVE BELIEVE 🔥

For the past 23 years Steve has dedicated himself to breaking and Hip Hop culture, training, performing, and teaching as both a practitioner and lifelong student. He represents Repstyles Crew in Philadelphia and Concrete All-Stars in Los Angeles, and co-founded Hip Hop Fundamentals which provides arts education for students in K-12. In and out of the cypher, Steve works to uplift dance and Hip Hop through community organizing, arts advocacy, and programs that center culture and creativity. Steve is focused on using Hip Hop to inspire, connect, and make an impact.

On the 1’s and 2’s, we’ve got a Philly legend DJ SKEME RICHARDS

When you think of Philadelphia’s rich history of musical contributions, you instantly notice that it is also a city known for birthing some of the greatest internationally known DJ’s who are masters of their crafts. One such person who has deep roots and connections to the City of Brotherly Love is Skeme Richards. What started as a hobby in the early 1980’s has turned into an amazing musical career taking him across the globe as a professional DJ and music connoisseur to play for events both small and large, from night clubs to festivals, art exhibitions to Kilm premiers and even to play guest spots on both independent and commercial radio.

Digging and spinning genres across the board, from Funk & Soul classics to Disco, Rare Groove to Jazz and beyond, Skeme keeps things classic and refreshingly new while continuously striving to separate himself from the pack. While maintaining originality in his brand, he keeps his Kirst class status as a traditional party rocker all while satisfying and educating the partygoer at the same time. Quality is always of the utmost importance and the Skeme Richards brand has become synonymous with being a global cultural ambassador in connecting audiences of diverse backgrounds, worldwide.
