About CHICHE:
Formed in Philadelphia and currently based in New York City, Chiche is the moniker of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jared Chichester. Originally from Beaumont, Texas, Jared’s folk influence dances throughout his debut record Closed Mouths—a storied keepsake about selfhood and authenticity.
As a songwriter, Jared’s music is a unique and complex hybridization of folk and alt-country influences. After years as a solo artist, Chiche is Jared’s first collaborative project, working with dear friends Daniel Chiodo, Kuya Daniel, and Amani Cavender, he explains that this group of musicians and friends taught him how to share ideas and lead without holding on too tightly. The result is an album that feels both personal and democratic.
Reflective and direct, the record looks back on Jared’s twenty-five years so far. It’s a collection of where he’s been, and a glimpse of where he’s headed.
