Wear your most colourful clothes and bring your biggest smiles! Be your brightest at this summer’s Go Bright Fun Run for Cornwall Mind!

Join us on Sunday 16th August at National Trust Trelissick, near Truro, for a fun-filled morning where you can run, walk, skip or dance along a bespoke scenic route created especially for us by the Trust.

Choose between a one mile or two mile run and enjoy the stunning views as you pass by the ancient oaks and weave through private parkland, starting and finishing at the stately Trelissick House.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity for all the family to get active and enjoy the great outdoors!

It's World Schizophrenia Awareness Day.

Lots of people have heard of schizophrenia. But it's still very misunderstood.

'Schizophrenia' is a controversial mental health diagnosis related to psychosis.

But there's no clear definition of what this condition is. People given this diagnosis can have very different symptoms to each other. And these symptoms might be explained in a wide range of ways.

So there's lots of debate and disagreement about schizophrenia.

Because of this, some experts say that doctors shouldn't use this diagnosis anymore. Especially because it can be a stigmatising and difficult label to live with.

But others still find it a useful diagnosis to convey how hard it can be to live with certain symptoms. And to help people get support and care.

Hope Walks is a free, supportive walking group for people who have been affected by the loss of someone close to them who may have died by suicide.

We’re now launching our evening walks, running from May to September in Truro.

🕙 Monday evening from 6pm

There is no time limit on the bereavement – you are welcome whether your loss was recent or many years ago.

Our walks offer a gentle opportunity to connect with others who understand, with time to walk and talk together in a supportive, natural environment.

All walks are facilitated by Cornwall Mind staff and volunteers.

Hope Singers - Camborne

Hope Singers is a welcoming singing group for anyone affected by the loss of someone close to them who may have died by suicide.

There is no time limit on grief, and you do not need to have experienced your loss recently to join us.

The group offers a safe, supportive space to connect with others who understand, share peer support, and take part in an uplifting activity that can help improve wellbeing. And you don’t have to be able to sing to join.

The singing is led by Gail Hampshire, an experienced and enthusiastic singing leader, who is passionate about singing for health and wellbeing.

It runs on the first Thursday of every month 10 am – 12 noon.

Peer support brings people together who've shared similar experiences and can empathise with what you're going through.

Lots of people find peer support helps improves their wellbeing and cope with mental health problems.

For example, it could:

▶️reassure you that you're not alone in how you are feeling

Our Peer Recovery Coaches use their own lived experience of mental health to support others in a safe, understanding, and non-judgemental way.

Together, we can support you to take control of your wellbeing and build hope, confidence, and self-belief.

You’ll work with your Recovery Coach to create a personalised wellbeing plan, helping you identify what matters to you and what supports your mental health and wellbeing.

We'll also support you to work towards personal goals, get involved in community activities, and connect with other local support.
