Thora Birch has publicly come out as bisexual! 💜🩷💙

The actress recently appeared at West Hollywood gay bar The Abbey for its 35th anniversary, where she spoke about the importance of showing her “support for the community, which shaped so much who I am and my identity as well, being a bi person”.

Birch is best known for her breakout performance as Dani in Hocus Pocus (1993), which became a Halloween cult classic and a favourite within the LGBTQIA+ community.

She also starred in American Beauty (1999) and Ghost World (2001), earning BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations, respectively. Most recently, Birch appeared in Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut, The Chronology of Water (2025).

Last year, Birch expressed interest in appearing in Hocus Pocus 3 after being absent from the 2022 sequel.

“I'd like to know what they land on for how Dani wound up," she told Entertainment Tonight. "I'm super open to the idea. They like talking about this stuff, so we’ll see."

Happy birthday to the one, the only, Kylie Minogue ✨🎁

As we celebrate the pop icon’s 58th birthday, we’re revisiting her recent interview with Gay Times, where she reflected on her lifelong connection to the LGBTQIA+ community.

When asked why that bond has endured for so long, she said: “I don’t know the answer.

“I don't really need to know. It is, it exists, let it be. It gets deep. On one hand, it's way more profound and complex, and on another hand it's really simple: we like each other! We support each other.”

Seventeen albums and 80 million+ records into her career, Kylie said the support of the LGBTQIA+ community means more to her than ever: “The same as it always has, but maybe more. It wasn’t a passing thing – if anything, it’s only grown stronger.”

Pornhub has launched a new site designed specifically for queer women and non binary content.

Pornhub Sapphic is said to prioritise the experience of women and how they engage with the content on the site, with content specifically for the female gaze, with advertising also focused on women.

Alex Kekesi, VP of Brand and Community at Pornhub, said: “Pornhub Sapphic was created in direct response to feedback from lesbian, queer, and straight women who told us they wanted an experience that felt made for them.”

“By working with creators and users, we’ve built a space where women loving women content is featured and celebrated.”

Kekesi explained that the new site will offer creators “new opportunities to connect with an engaged audience actively seeking their categories of content”, while providing viewers with a “dedicated place to explore and enjoy adult entertainment with their experiences and desires in mind.”

By using audience feedback to help shape the design, Pornhub Sapphic will also remove male centric adverts commonly seen on the main website.

Netflix has unveiled first-look images of Heartstopper Forever, the upcoming film that will serve as the conclusion to the beloved series 🏳️‍🌈🍂

Captioned “Say hi to Heartstopper summer,” the photos show lead stars Joe Locke and Kit Connor all loved up as their characters Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson. As well as returning to their beloved roles for one final hurrah, Locke and Connor will also serve as executive producers for the first time.

Connor told Tudum: "These characters have meant a lot to us over the years. As EPs, it feels like we can really say goodbye to them in a way that feels the most right. It is bittersweet, but it is also a really nice way of ending it."

Locke added: "This show has meant so much to me in my life. I'll always carry that with me."

Heartstopper Forever follows an “inseparable” Nick and Charlie as they are forced to grapple with the “reality of a long-distance relationship” when Nick prepares to leave for university, while Charlie finds independence at school.

“Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet,” the synopsis reads. “Meanwhile, their friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on. Can first loves really last forever?”

Heartstopper Forever premieres 17 July on Netflix.

Iceland has been named the most trans-friendly country in Europe and Central Asia 🏳️‍⚧️

According to the annual Trans Rights Index and Map – “the most comprehensive data collection and analysis of human rights of trans people in Europe and Central Asia” – Iceland ranked first, with Malta in second place and Spain rounding out the top three.

The index ranks countries across categories including Legal Gender Recognition, Asylum, Hate Crime/Speech, Non-Discrimination, Health and Family.
Iceland scored 30 out of 32, losing one point in Asylum for “Policy/other positive measures” and another in Hate Crime/Speech for “Policy tackling hatred”.

Russia ranked last, scoring 0 out of 32. Other countries with low scores included Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia and Azerbaijan, each receiving one point.

In a statement, TGEU said: “The 2026 Trans Rights Index and Map shows more visible legal shifts than in recent years. However, most of these changes do not reflect new political commitment.

“The developments mostly stem from the tireless work of activists and court rulings rather than governments taking proactive steps to advance rights. Despite visible public attacks on trans people across much of the region, the lack of political response is alarming.”

Caleb Shomo, the founder and lead vocalist of American rock band Beartooth, has come out as gay 🏳️‍🌈

On 24 May, the singer addressed the “speculation surrounding my private life” in a heartfelt message posted to Instagram, saying he felt “compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further”.

“I am a proudly gay man,” wrote Shomo. “This is something I’ve been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now. It’s been difficult to navigate the feelings surrounding the subject and figure out what to do with this fact.”

“I will only do what makes me happy at the deepest level and what is the most honest depiction of who I am,” he continued. “I believe it’s impossible to love every part of you when you face every part of you head on. I am trying to finally be proud of who I am and I think this is a massive part of that journey.”

Shomo’s wife of 14 years, Fleur, addressed his statement shortly afterwards, saying “the past few months have been a very disorientating and hurtful time to navigate” for both of them.

However, she added: “But I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb. I have cared more about his well-being over the years than anything else in the world.”

Sex scenes with trans women in film and TV have historically been a spectacle of objectification, fetishisation and at times, dehumanisation. Their characters are broadly one-dimensional, transactional and inconsequential. In short, up until fairly recently, the trans femme experience on-screen has been depicted by a lot of trauma, violence and overcoming great obstacles and not a whole lot of joy and enjoyment.

That being said, there are a few scenes that have gone down in history for breaking the mould and showing that trans women and femmes can have sex on screen that is pleasure-focused, consenting and meaningful.
