Part of the Baltic trio, it surprised me with how elegant, walkable and atmospheric it feels, and recently ranked the 2nd most walkable city in the world. It’s also a home to one of the world’s richest collections of Art Nouveau architecture.

Here’s a suggested itinerary for 2 days in Riga with the best spots to visit:

Day 1: Old Town & classic Riga
📍 St. Peter’s Church tower (best panoramic view over the city)
📍 House of the Blackheads
📍 Doma Square + Dom restaurant for a coffee stop
📍 The Three Brothers & Swedish Gate📍 Freedom Monument + canal walks

Day 2: Art Nouveau & hidden gems
📍 Alberta Street (an absolute must, it’s like walking through an open-air museum)
