"Count it all joy"

These were the 4 simple words that carried me through this entire prep.

Thank you to everyone who helped me along this journey. Thank you Jesus for letting me grow closer to you, and helping me find peace within pursuit.
I think 17 year old Reese (2nd pic) would be proud.

This entire process was quite possibly the most challenging thing I have ever done. Filled with a lot of hungry nights, long cardio sessions, tired workouts, and so much more.

Through this I have learned a few things that will go so much farther than stepping on a stage.

1. Do difficult things… It sounds simple, but constantly finding ways to push your limits will put you in a state of "flow". Being in this state will allow you to be more effortlessly present in life, and accomplish so much more than you ever thought you could.

2. Stack small wins… Just like building a physique, achieving big goals takes time. A lot of it. Focus on the next task, not the end result. Celebrate the new PR on squat, or the new bicep vein you got, or that A you got on the exam you thought was so hard. Before you know it, you will compete in your first show, or earn that degree. It doesn’t matter what mountain you want to climb, just put on the boots and start walking. It might take a while. Maybe even forever. Enjoy the view along the way.

3. Trust in the Lord with you full heart… This is the most important thing. Give absolutely everything to Jesus. The wins and losses. While in pursuit of your big goals and dreams, it can sometimes feel like a never ending valley. Stay there. Trust me. This is where God wants you to trust in him the most. When you are comfortable, and avoid every hardship in the way. You are avoiding the love that God wants to share with you. He reveals himself through struggle. That is where your arc shifts, and you become the person you were always meant to be. Don’t run from the mud.

Well, show day. We made it.

And yes I’ll be back.
