A thoughtful proposal to extend a traditional farmhouse, introducing a pool house that draws on the simple forms of local agricultural buildings.

The new volume accommodates a leisure suite with a swimming pool, steam room and sauna, with the pool forming the heart of the space and enjoying southerly rural views across the landscaped gardens. Large format sliding doors on both elevations are carefully detailed to maximise views and daylight, keeping visual obstructions to a minimum and allowing the space to feel open and connected to its setting.

By day, the interior is naturally lit through generous glazing and rooflights. As evening falls, a soft and restrained lighting strategy creates a calm, atmospheric environment suited to dusk use. A contemporary glazed link, expressed as a smaller connecting volume, provides a clear and legible transition between the existing farmhouse and the pool house.
