🥀 Meena Cryle & The Chris Fillmore Band create an exceptionally honest and exciting brand of music. Southern Soul, Blues, Gospel and Rock’n’Roll are the labels most commonly used to describe this stand-out formation from Austria. But the band prefers to avoid clichés and pigeonholing.

Meena Cryle & Chris Fillmore believe in the transcendent power of music. “I don’t think when I sing,” she says. In the process, they also allow their listeners to escape from reality – at least for a little while.

So, in diving into the improvisation I was not aware of my rational part. I was not capable to think 🫀

The style explores femininity in infinite prisms, while feeling the beauty of the moment. This piece uses hip hop vocabulary with FrameUp style to express the state of feeling an internal abstract idea and the desire to transform it into reality - a common feeling experienced by many dancers and artists in the beginning stages of creating something new, battling to present a part of your soul to the world while knowing art is created not for people but for an infinite truth.
