My wife and I had a blast last week at the Mandalorian and Grogu advanced screening. We had a chance to meet the Man himself along with my favorite little guy. The movie was a lot of fun and the visuals were awesome! Big thanks to ILM for the opportunity.

My debut solo album @bossanova.frankenstein "Heavy Relic" is OUT NOW in the world!

It's an ambitious and cinematic record that marks a big milestone for me in my artistic journey. It's still working its way through the streaming wormhole so it's not up everywhere, but you can listen now on Spotify, Itunes, and Bandcamp.

Produced and mixed by Alex Newport @alexnewps in his Tiny Creatures studio in Yucca Valley.

Drums by Michael Wallace @milk_jagger and Aaron Farinelli @aaronfarinelli

Extra special thanks to @aus.funkt which gave me theexperience and drive to do this, @montelbaun for recording us in Montreal, @glasseyemerchant and @bulgarsalad for their artistic collaborations and to all who helped me or supported me in bringing this monster to life.

The album itself is a loose concept of death and rebirth- of falling apart, picking up the pieces, stitching yourself back up, and finding your voice once again.

It's got fun songs about horse-thieves on the run, love-starved cannibals, forbidden romance between a man and a galaxy, pyromaniacs moving back home, and ill-fated couples tangled in a satanic sex cult. And of course...there's Bossanova Frankenstein.

But there are also songs of a more personal and introspective nature, ruminating on past mistakes, break-ups, anxiety, aging and depression, while ending on ultimately an optimistic affirmation of hope with the simple message "I Believe In You".

This experience gave me a sense of purpose and direction that kept me grounded throughout the daily chaos of the world these past few years. I encourage anyone currently feeling lost or unsure of what path to take, to pick up that old guitar, take on a really personal project or goal they've been putting off for a long time and just start working towards it. The process is somewhat painful and slow, but it keeps us moving forward and is a defiant message in difficult times. Your art, will set you free.

Okay, enough already- listen to the album, and enjoy!

Bossanova Frankenstein 🎸⚡🧟

I had a blast at NAMM 2026! This was my first time attending and was completely blown away by everything there was to see and hear. Practically every audio and instrument brand I could imagine showed up with such cool gear to explore first hand. It was nice to run into a bunch of buddies from my Blue Whale Jazz Club days along with seeing tons of other artists I admire. Big thanks to my boy, Rob at InMusic for getting me involved.

Our last stop on our Italian adventure was the historic city of Matera. It felt like a city trapped in time with many well preserved buildings built into the rock walls. We took a hike to the other side of the valley to explore the remnants of the ancient cave dwellings. It was hard to find a view that wasn’t stunning.

We had a fun day in the coastal city of Gallipoli. We took a turn somehow ended up in Detroit, or rather a killer record shop called Detroit Rock City. I found an early 7” by the Italian punk/new wave band Decibel. We also found a trendy fashion shop named F**k. We had no need for any F**k so no F**ks were purchased that day. We later had some delicious pasta overlooking the sea. Not a bad day.

RIP Jack DeJohnette. Truly one of the giants and a huge inspiration as a drummer. His work on Miles’s Bitches Brew was my gateway in jazz music from a prog/psych rock background. A gifted traditional jazz drummer, funky as hell, and could shred alongside metal guitarists like on his album Music For The Fifth World. He really had his own unmistakable voice. I feel incredibly privileged to have seen him perform live several times and an honor to have met him briefly. I am certain that hisinfluence will live on with so many people.

Next we traveled to our next home in Caprarica Di Lecce. We visited some beaches along the way including the Cave Of Poetry. We explored the towns of Ostuni, Lecce, Otranto. Later we had a nice sea-side dip in a sulfur pool in Santa Ceasarea. We had plenty of delicious food like clam pasta, rare tuna steak, octopus salad and beef tartar with black truffles.

Next we visited Martina Franca where we had a nice stroll and had some amazing pizza. Then off to Grotte Di Castellana where we went deep into some ancient caves and saw some incredible otherworldly caverns (photography prohibited in the best parts). So glad we didn’t watch the movie The Descent recently beforehand. Took a short trip to Alberobello to see a city with old world structures called trulli. Lastly we capped off the night with an unforgettable meal at Braceria 3 Fratelli were we had a meal consisting of beef carpaccio, cured hams and cheese and Brazilian-style picanha steak with a nice bottle of vino di susumaniello rosso. Holy shit! What a day.

Holy shit! What a day.

Next we visited Martina Franca where we had a nice stroll and had some amazing pizza. Then off to Grotte Di Castellana where we went deep into some ancient caves and saw some incredible otherworldly caverns (photography prohibited in the best parts). Next stops on our trip were the coast cities of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli. We had a great time exploring the cliffside villas with plenty of great food and drinks. Historic castles, ports and cathedrals. One chiesa displaying preserved priests’ dead bodies dating back to the late 1700’s, because the Catholic church was metal as hell.
